Consignment split calculator for Whatnot
Enter a sale price and your agreed split to see exactly what your consignor gets and what you keep — with an option to take Whatnot's fees off the top first.
Taking consignment means every sale has to be split — the consignor's cut and yours. Use the calculator below to see exactly who gets what on any sale, then scroll down for how the math works and whether to split before or after Whatnot's fees.
Splits vary — some sellers split the gross sale, others split after fees. There's no “right” number; what matters is that you and your consignor agree it in writing up front.
How the math works
A consignment split is just a percentage of the sale. Multiply the sale price by the consignor's agreed cut to get their share; the rest is yours. On a $40 sale with a 60% consignor split, the consignor gets $24 and you keep $16.
Before or after Whatnot fees?
This is the part worth settling early. You can split the gross sale (simplest), or take Whatnot's fees off the top first and split what's left — which means you and the consignor share the platform cost. Tick “subtract Whatnot fees first” above to see the difference. Either is fine; just don't leave it unspoken, or you'll be renegotiating after the show.
Don't run this after every sale
A calculator is great for setting terms — but you don't want to be doing this math for every item on a 200-sale night. Backstage applies each consignor's agreed split automatically, using real Whatnot receipts for the fees, and shows both you and the consignor exactly what's owed in real time.
