How to List Quickly on Whatnot
Whatnot's own listing form takes items one at a time. Here's what actually speeds up pre-show listing, and how Backstage Prep does it.
Whatnot’s own listing form is built for one item at a time — title, category, condition, shipping, price, photos, save, repeat. That’s fine for five items. It’s a real problem for twenty-five, the night before a show. Here’s what actually fixes that, and how Backstage Prep does it.
What actually speeds up pre-show listing
Filling out the same form faster isn’t the fix — skipping the one-at-a-time part is. A real batch-listing workflow needs four things:
- Photos that turn into items automatically — not a folder of
IMG_4521.HEICfiles you have to match up by hand. - Categories and shipping that don’t have to be re-found every time — Whatnot’s category tree is deep, and re-navigating it item after item is a big part of the lost time.
- The ability to edit many items at once — one price change, one condition tag, applied to a whole group, not repeated one by one.
- A single push to Whatnot, not twenty-five separate saves.
How Backstage Prep handles it
Drag a folder of photos in. Prep asks whether they’re one item or one item per photo and builds the items for you. Each file name becomes the starting title, and you fill in price and category instead of untangling a camera roll.
Every Whatnot category is baked in. Pick a category and the right sub-categories and condition options populate on their own, with shipping profiles from Whatnot’s list.
Bulk-edit a selection in one shot. Select twelve items and set category, condition, and shipping together — or save a preset once and apply it to every item that matches.
Every item also gets an auto-numbered callout (A1, A2, A3…) that buyers can shout during the show to request it. Sort the batch and hit renumber and every callout snaps back to sequential order.
One CSV, and you’re done. The export follows Whatnot’s own bulk-import template. Open Inventory in Seller Hub on a computer, choose Import from CSV, and every item appears as a draft, ready to review, publish and add to your show.
