Backstage Consignor — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-17 · Operator: Slow Arcs LLC
Backstage Consignor is the companion app for consignors who are paired with a Backstage Live seller. It lets you accept a seller's shows, sign consignment contracts, track your items as they sell, receive and ship packages, report damage, and confirm payouts. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is handled and used, where it is stored, and who it is shared with. It works alongside the suite-wide Backstage Live Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
The short version: Backstage Consignor is an account-based app. To do its job — linking you to a seller and settling what you're owed — it stores your account, pairing, contract, payout, shipment, and sales data in our hosted database (Supabase), and the photos you add in our hosted storage. The seller you pair with can see the consignment data for the shows you share. We never sell your data, never run ads, and never use it to train AI models.
1. What we collect
1a. Account and contact information
- Email address and password — to create your account and sign you in (passwords are handled by Supabase Auth; we never see them)
- Display name and phone number, where you provide them, so the seller can identify and reach you
1b. Pairing and contract information
- Pairing code linking your account to a specific seller, and the public profile of the seller you pair with
- Consignment contract terms, your signature/acceptance, and your acknowledgment of any contract changes
1c. Payout and shipping information
- Payout method and handle (e.g. PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle) so the seller can pay you. We do not collect bank account, card, or government ID numbers.
- Shipping address and shipment details for items moving between you and the seller
1d. Sales, shipments, damage, and payouts
- Captured sales for your items during a paired show (item title, price, timestamp), sold reports, and the payouts owed to you
- Shipment records (submitted and received), item-damage reports and any payout disputes you raise
- Photos you attach to shipments or damage reports
1e. Information you send us
If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you write.
2. How the data is stored
- In our cloud (primary). Your account, pairing, contract, payout, shipment, sales, and damage records are stored in our hosted Supabase Postgres database. The photos you attach are stored in Supabase Storage.
- On your device. Your session and app preferences are stored locally on your device (iOS Preferences / app filesystem) so you stay signed in and your settings persist.
3. How we use the data
- Link your account to your seller and show you the shows, items, and sales that involve you
- Present and record your consignment contract and any changes
- Track shipments, record damage reports, and calculate and confirm the payouts you're owed
- Sign you in across sessions and devices
- Respond when you contact support, and keep the service secure and prevent abuse
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, serve ads, or use your data to train AI/ML models.
4. Who we share data with
We share only what's needed to run the app, with providers obligated to keep it confidential:
- The seller you pair with — sees the consignment data tied to your shared shows (your contract status, the sales and payouts for your items, shipment and damage records, and the payout handle you provide so they can pay you).
- Supabase — hosted database, authentication, and storage for all of the above, including your photos.
- Apple App Store / TestFlight — app distribution and crash/diagnostic data, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Email provider (Resend) — delivers transactional emails (e.g. account or pairing notifications) when applicable.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
5. Device permissions
- Photos / files — to let you attach shipment and damage photos
- Local storage — to keep you signed in and remember your settings
- No location, contacts, microphone, health data, or advertising identifier is collected
6. Data retention
- In Supabase: your account, contract, payout, shipment, and sales records are kept while your account is active so your consignment history stays intact. Deleted on request (see §8).
- Photos: kept with the shipment or damage report they belong to until you or we delete the record.
- On your device: session and settings remain until you sign out or uninstall the app.
7. Security
- All network traffic uses TLS encryption
- Supabase tables and storage use row-level security so you only see your own data and the shows you're paired into
- Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth; we never see them
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as required by law.
8. Your rights and choices
- Delete your account and data — email us and we'll remove your account, contracts, payout details, shipments, photos, and sales records within 30 days (we may retain limited records where required by law)
- Request a copy of, or correction to, the personal data we hold about you
- Sign out at any time to clear your session from the device
- Stop using the app at any time
If you live in California, the EU/UK, or another jurisdiction with data-rights laws (CCPA, GDPR, etc.), you may also object to certain processing and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
Backstage Consignor is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used it, contact us and we'll delete the data.
10. Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date, and notify active users.
11. Contact
